About Paul

I have been a Concord resident since 1976 when my wife, Ellen, and I moved to West Concord. Concord proved to be the perfect place to raise our family. Our three children, Jesse, Adrienne (Boardman) and Meredith (Palusci) all attended Concord Public Schools. My daughters have returned to Concord as adults to raise their families. My grandchildren currently attend Thoreau Elementary School, and two will begin at the Ellen Garrison Building at the Concord Middle School next year. Having three generations of our family in town will continue to have an impact on my balanced perspective on the challenges and opportunities that face Concord.

Over my long career as an environmental scientist, adviser, and expert I developed the expertise for solving complex problems using teamwork and a collaborative, data-driven, transparent approach. I have a wide range of experience in communicating and explaining complex issues to the public to increase awareness and understanding.

Over the last 15 years I have served and applied experience and energy to (in some cases leading) multiple Town committees and task forces including:

  • 2229 Main Street Advisory Task Force

  • Recreation Commission

  • Community Preservation Committee (CPC)

  • NMI-Starmet Re-use Planning Committee

  • Warner’s Pond Task Force

Through this service work I have developed a deep understanding of town governance and the need for new, creative ideas, open-mindedness, and transparency. I have built meaningful relationships with town staff and the many citizens who volunteer their time to serve Concord.
